Year 3/4 Chalk and Charcoal Portraits

We had to draw a portrait of our partner using charcola and chalk.

We had to stay very still fou our partner to draw us carefully.

We had to keep our mouths shut because it was to hard to draw the inside.

Year 5/6 Doodles

Miss Roberts showed us pictures of doodles then asked us to design our own.

We had to start off with a circle and build around it.

We had to fill in all the white gaps with black ink.

I found it easier using pen because i could see the doodles clearly.

I found it tricky using pen because if i made a mistake I couldn't rub it out - I just had to carry on!

Year 3/4 Glynn Vivian Visit - Introduction to the Gallery

Year 3/4 Glynn Vivian Visit - Portraits

Year 3/4 Glynn Vivian Visit - Oil Pastel Portraits

Year 5/6 Glynn Vivian Visit

We had to pick a painting on the wall and draw it.

We started a portrait of Glynn Vivian

Glynn Vivian was an art collector who became blind.

We had to give our opinions on the portrait.

We had to choose one of the artefacts that interested us and sketch it.

We chose to draw a china cup.

I am sketching a coffee pot that looked like Aladdin's Lamp.
Some of us chose to draw the cow creamery collection.
They were quite tricky to draw because there was a great deal of detail.
I drew a plate. I had to take my time to capture all the detail.
These are from the Meager Collection.
This was a flower basket on a plate and I had to sketch a close-up of the flowers.
We had to choose a section of a picture and draw it.
We had three landscape to choose from.
We had to look particularly for colour and shape.
We only had to sketch a small section.
I like this painting because it has different colours and patterens.
I like this painting because the plants looked real.
I picked this because I thought it looked easy to draw.
The colours were difficult to mix though.
In this painting, the sea was rough and
the colours were quite dull.

This was a large sculpture of in the centre of the gallery.

We had to go back to the workshop to paint our sketches.

We were taught how to use a water colour palette.

We had to pay close attention to detail. We all painted our sketches - it was enjoyable but more difficult than we expected.

I was really pleased with what I achieved.

I chose the garden - it was very difficult to stop the colours from running into each other.
